Shane Wright rumours

So, it's been rumoured that Shane Wright may be moved.

I was very high on Shane Wright when he was drafted and I believe him to be an incredible hockey player. Good fit on the Kraken, but the timing of him being there wasn't quite the best given that team decided to start with veteran players rather than start young. Aside from Shane Wright I always felt the Seattle Kraken to be a poorly ran franchise when it comes down to management. But these are the places I feel Shane Wright could get a fresh start.

I feel Pittsburgh would be the best fit for Wright because I think he needs long and established veterans to be around and I find he plays a similar offensive game to Sidney Crosby. That being said, once he establishes his game in Pittsburgh I think he'll do very well. I believe the trade going down would mean Shane Wright being a big part of the Penguins infrastructure similar to Tyler Seguin and the Dallas Stars.

I think St. Louis would be my second pick to Pittsburgh because it's a small market with not a whole lot of pressure, and I think the Blues would likely have what the Kraken need to make the playoffs. I find Robert Thomas to be a very valuable player because he entered the NHL not just as a winner but as a veteran who looked to have played one-thousand NHL games before even playing one. He gives me a Mike Keane superstar vibe, but I think St. Louis should hold onto him because he's their leader. Brayden Schenn I could see heading to the Kraken to be reunited with his World Junior teammates while bringing extra leadership. But the one who does make the most sense is Jordan Kyrou as he can not only more than replace Wright, but adds everything the Seattle Kraken need which is additional scoring and someone who can be penned onto the top six. So I say Shane Wright, Ryker Evans and Tampa Bay's 1st in 2026 for Jordan Kyrou. I think both fan bases say yes to this. I also believe Jim Montgomery to be the perfect coach for Shane Wright into helping his game.

The reason the New York Rangers make sense is because some might say they could trade Panarin, Zibanejad or Trochek to the Kraken, but I think they could swap Alexis Lafreniere and Shane Wright, but I think Seattle would need to add. Kakko who also played for the Rangers managed to fix his game with the Kraken, but also Shane Wright's old AAA linemate Brennan Othmann is with that organization so some familiarity may help his game. The reason I wouldn't say the Rangers is because I think it'd be too much for him. But I do think it's also good given Mike Sullivan may be the ideal coach for him.

One other option could be the Toronto Maple Leafs, except I don't think there's anybody the Kraken could use or get from Toronto. I think Toronto could because it's where he's from and maybe Mitch Marner may be the reason the Leafs may not take in players from Toronto. But another one could be the Detroit Red Wings.
