Marco Rossi and Frank Nazar III contracts
The Marco Rossi contract is a big win-win for both sides, I think this will be good for Rossi to prove himself as for Minnesota it doesn't quite put an anchor on the salary cap. What I also like about it is if Rossi wanted to be traded away from Minnesota, they'd likely be able to move the contract easier while also getting a lot out of a trade. If they are to trade Rossi, I see it being similar to the Kevin Fiala trade which is good for Minnesota getting depth. But this is something we'll need to check in on later, but this temporarily shuts down the Rossi trade rumours.
So, one thing about the Nazar contract that struck my eye is how Chicago is preparing for long-term contention which is what I love. As much as I am a fan of the old Chicago Blackhawks team, I notice this team is completely different and nothing like the Blackhawks in their dynasty/Kane-Toews era. What Chicago did wrong then was not plan ahead, and this contract has a lot of mixed views. But the reason for me loving this contract is Nazar was one of the best forwards at the World Championship for USA. But when it's time for Chicago to extend Bedard -- and all their other young players -- they are able to plan better long-term rather than give big contracts away. What I learned from the Chicago Blackhawks of the dynasty era was they didn't plan best, but their mindset was well done. I think what all NHL teams need is depth on all their lines, as that's where the Blackhawks messed up which had their dynasty end quickly. But why this is being mentioned is this contract takes up a small fraction of the cap. The term is also a chefs kiss for both sides ensuring security for everybody.
