Bridgeport Islanders relocation rumours

Today it had caught my eye that the Bridgeport Islanders could be potentially relocating to Hamilton, Ontario. Now, this is eye-opening to me because I don't know why the Islanders would look into doing this. I mean, what would make sense is if they're to sell their affiliate, they could just partner with the Chicago Wolves; as I do believe they'd be more than a great fit and the airport is easier to access, while also not being rivals with their division teams. I just don't see an American team being an affiliate with a Canadian market.

As for Hamilton, I think either Toronto or Ottawa should move either the Marlies or Senators to Hamilton. I mean, I believe Toronto's second NHL team should be brought to Hamilton, given they're a generous distance from one another. But I don't see the point of moving the Marlies, but I think they're doing this for the growth of the PWHL as it's been rumoured before that the Marlies would be moving to Hamilton. I also don't entirely agree with Belleville being an AHL city, I think it's more of an OHL city if I'm being honest. The rumours had opened up because of the renovation of Copps Coliseum, where the Bulldogs had relocated to Brantford which turned out to work quite well. You have the Marlies, Senators, Rocket, where they're in a good proximity from their teams. Some could say Winnipeg, but they have a long marriage with the Jets, Vancouver is a solid no; as is Calgary and Edmonton. If Quebec got a team back, maybe, but that's not going to happen unfortunately -- I wish it did.

I think the team who should take on the franchise of the Bridgeport Islanders should be either Utah or Florida, I just can't wrap my head around Carolina and Charlotte not being affiliates anymore. Utah has a second rink that's not being used or can think of other ideas. Maybe Florida and Tampa can bring in two Florida teams in Orlando and Jacksonville, more so to increase the popularity of hockey in Florida; while also not making taxes complicated for players getting called up and sent down. I also don't think the players enjoy playing in Syracuse as well, given there aren't one-way flights to Syracuse from Tampa (and vice-versa). Not just that, they have an old arena, but they did renovate it although it's quite old and in Syracuse it's deemed a landmark. I think Syracuse is more of an ECHL city than AHL.
