The five players from the trail and what may happen with them career-wise

This blog is only for speaking about the future of hockey and what may happen. We don't go into details on controversial topics depending on the circumstances.

Anyway, Carter Hart, Dillon Dube, Alex Formenton, Michael McLeod and Cal Foote have been found not guilty. Them being not guilty means a second shot at the professional level.

It has been reported that Carter Hart gained interest with the Oilers which is where I see Carter Hart signing probably one-year one million. But there is a possibility that Carter Hart returns to the Flyers or plays on an American team given he wanted to move there during the scandal, but if he wants the right shot with the right team in the States I think the Los Angeles Kings would be the best fit for him if not Philadelphia or Edmonton. He still has potential to be a star goaltender but I think he should go to a team in need of a goaltender. Buffalo might also be a good fit for him. I'd say Toronto but the media isn't good for him and I think he wants to play in quiet and underwhelming market.

I think Alex Formenton will get his career back on track but I think the wise decision would be to return to Europe or if he wants to stay in North America to sign a one-year two-way deal with a team with a huge cap crunch like Vegas. If any NHL team is the best fit for him right now it's the Golden Knights.

Dillon Dube I see getting another shot in the NHL, but the question is if he returns to Calgary or not. He's another player I think needs to redeem himself in Europe which I think he'll do and return to the NHL in the 2026-27 season. But if he returns to the NHL I see him playing on either Calgary, Chicago or Boston.

Michael McLeod should be playing in Europe this season because I think lots has to be proven for his character and teamwork on the ice before an NHL team considers signing him. I think he does return one day, but needs a year in Europe. I think it'll also benefit him because I see him returning as a good player after one year in Europe.

And finally, we have Cal Foote. Cal Foote I think gets a one-year two-way contract where I'm going to also say the Vegas Golden Knights. But if not Vegas, I think he ends up with the New York Islanders. I think Vancouver could be a possibility given his dad is the coach, but I don't think that's happening.
