Ohio State University needs to improve their hockey program
Since the CHL decided to make their players eligible for the NCAA, I think we'll see more talented players join the NCAA in the many years. I get why OSU didn't have much of a hockey program that people looked at, but the question here is this: why am I not bringing up more universities? Well, first I can do that in other articles, and secondly, they're the most valuable NCAA school in the United States. I think they need to put it towards more sports, but I think they should focus on hockey given they already have one of the best rivalries with University of Michigan who I believe to have a better sports program than OSU believe it or not, but what I believe is OSU could be much better if they decide to have the sports compete against all their top-tier programs, and I believe they can do it. I'm not saying Duke should as they're strictly basketball, not saying Texas A&M, but given Ohio State University is also good for Basketball and Football, I think investing more into Baseball and Hockey will have them gain lots of morale in the sports world.
OSU had some great NHLers pass by, most notably Ryan Kesler, David Steckel, and RJ Umberger. I think they could become one of those schools that has more NHLers come by, but first they need to improve their hockey program by a lot. I don't know how, but if I was the one doing it I'd make sure we have coaches, trainers and development in every area to which they can point out all the little things to help them reach their highest potential. If they do this, I think they're in for a huge cash flow. I also think it'll help hockey in Columbus as University of Michigan players always return to Detroit despite the fact they're from Michigan. But Columbus has brought back guys who once played for the Buckeyes hockey team, most notably RJ Umberger. But I think if they are to improve their hockey program, we're going to see at least two first-rounders a year out of Ohio State University.
