Islander shopping Dobson and potential landing spots
Noah Dobson is a very good defenseman in the NHL. Some don't see it, and honestly believe he should've been picked higher in the 2012 NHL Draft as his junior career was incredible before his second Memorial Cup with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. But with his first Memorial Cup with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan he pretty much carried that team which happened to be his draft year. Jeffery Vail is one of the only players on that team that got an NHL contract, and without Dobson they probably never gotten that Memorial Cup. He still did have a good season this year on a below-average Islanders team, but the year before he got seventy points in seventy-nine games, and one thing people don't think about is how competitive the defenseman are these days, like Cale Makar, Quinn Hughes, Josh Morrissey, but I think in 2-3 seasons Dobson will be a guy people will remain talking about as four years ago people didn't recognize Josh Morrissey as they do now.
But rumours are swirling that Noah Dobson is rumoured to be getting traded. Now, if the Islanders do this it's the dumbest thing ever. I think Dobson could be the future leader for the Islanders when Anders Lee retires; Barzal or Horvat could be too but I think Dobson as their leader would be best because I believe him to be a very dedicated hockey player. But it also is reported that Dobson is looking for an annual-average of $11M. I'd do it if I was Matthew Darche, or negotiate a little lower with more term, or add a NTC or NMC that interests Dobson's party more. He still led the defenseman on the Islanders in points this season!
Now, if the Islanders are done with him, I think the Seattle Kraken should make a serious pitch at him because sure you have Montour on the right-side, but also having a young Noah Dobson makes Seattle a better team. Also, a reunion with Lane Lambert may just be what he needs. But if not Seattle, I think Vegas should also take a swing at him as he's twenty-five and with Pietrangelo out for the season he'd be his best replacement. And my final team for Dobson is Nashville being he'd find his game there and be a staple on the Predators blue-line.
