Rod Brind'Amour shouldn't get any hate and it needs to stop!
First and for most, congratulations to the Florida Panthers for making it to their third-straight cup final which is a hard thing to achieve. Florida is a very good team with lots of talent that's hard to beat. One that Carolina couldn't handle, and Carolina is a good team with a very bright future and I personally believe between 2026-2032 they're going to make the Stanley Cup Finals or even win one.
Rod Brind'Amour has been one of the five best coaches in the league along with Jon Cooper, Paul Maurice, Jim Montgomery, and Craig Berube -- as of the time this post was made. I have been reading articles on various sites and boards that Rod Brind'Amour needed to go or wasn't good enough. I'll say this right now, if he was coaching Florida they'd probably have a way better record because Carolina doesn't have the exact firepower they got or the tax advantage. In fact, Rod Brind'Amour is the best thing to ever happen to the Carolina Hurricanes who was the one that captained them to two conference finals being part of their first three. Even coaching them to the playoffs every single year after missing the playoffs from 2010-2018, and that is not easy to do. The guy's heart is with the Hurricanes, and if some don't believe me there was a rumour Seattle was interested in signing him to a long-term deal. But he is very much dedicated to the Carolina Hurricanes, will do anything for that team in order to bring another cup to Carolina. If some see how he is with the team and prospects, he does it better than any coach letting them know once they represent the Carolina Hurricanes, that he is going to help them to their best potential. But now because they lost in a third conference finals they want a change?
The thing about change, is Brind'Amour is willing to change and tweak things around to help the team in the best way possible. He is hard working, and they don't call him 'Rod the Bod,' for nothing. They call him that because he works his ass off. If Carolina is going to hire a coach, they won't get anything better than him. Now, my controversial opinion is he's a better coach than Paul Maurice in a lot of ways. Better attitude, better manners, better mindset, and is able to make his team better. Paul Maurice is indeed a good coach, but give Paul Maurice a good roster he knows what to do with it, but a bad one they aren't getting very far. You can see it within the other coaches in the history going back to Hartford, the only three great ones are Laviolette, Maurice, and Rod Brind'Amour. If Rod Brind'Amour is gone, Carolina is back where they used to be and will likely lose not just their games, but also Svechnikov and Jarvis.
