My issue with NTC and NMC for teams

Not necessarily a bad thing, but the issue with them for me is there's too many of them now. I find if teams are not succeeding, it's because of the NTC and NMC.

Now, I don't think they should take them out of the game. I just think the NHL should have a limit per team as how many players have one. For example, I think it should be in between 3-6 players. Say three players, one of each position. Or say five maximum per team. I think it's a good rule because the issue I notice is once players sign the contract, they just stay and don't play their top game as players in the minors likely deserve those spots more than them.

My reason for disliking them is in the NHL it's not as manly as it used to be. It's gotten a lot softer, as players don't want to play for teams that either have cold weather or high taxes. I think they should be happy to be in the NHL and making that kind of money. I mean, Winnipeg is good because you can be called up and sent down without the stress of leaving your wife and kids behind. But some players don't see that, but in Winnipeg's case it's valuable because they can maybe find a hidden gem in the minors just like Martin St. Louis. But what some players don't understand is nothing can be taken for granted in the NHL and you gotta work hard while also taking it serious.

I love the salary cap, and Winnipeg shows it. The reason I like it is because players need to understand it's a team sport rather than a me sport. If a player cares about winning they'll make sure they take an evenly respected piece of the pie rather than the whole thing which has proven to cause a downfall similar to the Blackhawks.  If they want that extra cash, nice weather, or low taxes, they gotta work hard for it and the player in the NHL that deserves their money the most right now if you ask me is Connor McDavid, maybe more. It also shows because veterans take discounts because they know he's worth the money and will take a big part in taking them up a mountain. Matthew Tkachuk in my opinion also deserves his money as he works hard and what he's doing as well is helping to try growing the game.

The biggest example for me here is Pierre-Luc Dubois. He felt he deserved more money, and made the LA Kings look stupid by what they traded for him only for it to turn into Darcy Kuemper. But he also felt he deserved it after leaving Columbus on bad terms, also Winnipeg considering he had a place there and even his family lived there.
